Families Take Control and Live On Less Money

March 4th, 2009

shrinking-dollarFamilies are learning to live on less money by taking control over their spending. It is one of those things we must learn to do because of the soaring prices and lower wages. We are seeing lower wages since the economy has taken a dive because men and women are either being laid off, their companies closing altogether, or slowing down so much that hours are being cut back. Overtime is a thing to be remembered and does not appear to be coming back into fashion any time soon.

In order to combat the problems brought on by our poor economy many families are taking back control of their spending and actually discovering that they can live on less money. Here is what the Gallup poll found out recently:

What Is Financial Freedom?

February 13th, 2009

cash1When we ask ourselves the question “What is financial freedom?” we sometimes think thoughts like this:

  • Financial freedom is having enough money to buy whatever I want whenever I want.
  • Financial freedom is never having to worry about making my mortgage payment again.
  • Financial freedom is being able to work when and only if I want to work.
  • Financial freedom is being able to do and go wherever I want to go and do.

In reality I believe that true financial freedom is in our minds as we get control over our finances regardless of how much money we have. In actuality it is simply getting total control over what we have and living within our means. One of the main reasons we are in the dire straights we are in with our economy today is because so many wanted to live way higher than they were able too.  Buying houses too large and expensive, buying the bigger more luxurious automobile or SUV and basically living high on the hog.

We all need to learn to live on less and we will make it throiugh this recession or depression depending how you look on it
