Because of the economic downturn, or recession if you would like to call it that, many folks are facing difficult financial situations that are totally new to them and learning how to live on less is necessary.
Elizabeth Kiss, and extension specialist at Purdue University, makes this challenge, “Handling financial situations can be challenging at anytime; however, it is best to face the problems and work toward a solution rather than worry about it or ignore it,”
In other words, don’t wait until you are at your last straw and broke as broke can get to get started learning how to live on less. There are a number of simple common sense ideas available for any one and every one who wants to sock some extra money aside for that emergency fund that most do not have.
One of the first things you should do is figure out your total income verses your total necessary expenses. Get those must pay bills out in front and do your best to get some of those not so important credit card bills paid down and eliminated. Believe it or not once you get some stuff on paper and you begin to see where you waste, yes I said waste, your money at you will discover how to live on less.
